Earth Day

To celebrate Earth Day on Wednesday 22 April, S1 pupils participated in a range of activities. In their Social Subjects period they visited the library to complete an Earth Day webquest and measure their carbon footprint. In PSE pupils completed a wall display called 'Give the Earth a Hand'. Thanks to departments who contributed.

On Friday afternoon Eco Drama Scotland visited the school. S1 pupils participated in 'Professor Green's Eco Gadget workshop'. Pupils acted as Special Green Agents and investigated alternative forms of transport such as a boat which runs on candle wax and a hydrogen powered car. Pupils then used drama and role play to design an advert for one of the gadgets. The event was enjoyed by all and produced excellent ambassadors for the environment.
